While football spread betting is a pretty niche service it can be broken down into hundreds of markets, with many of our providers eager to encourage new traders into this space. One market that is becoming increasingly popular is corner-related football bets, with providers such as Spreadex providing a long list of corner-related betting opportunities.
Seeing fans and traders view games in a different manner, football matches turn from being about goals and results to corners, channelling your focus on a small aspect of the game.
The majority of providers break this down into three sections; Corners, Multi-corners and Cross-corners, with more informed fans having a vision on how the corners will pan out.
Devising a spread bet on corners will see the trader predict how many corners will be taken by each team, with the closer the prediction the more profits you will be set to receive. A typical Spreadex quote for a game would be 9.9-10.4. Therefore, a £5 buy at 10.4 would make a £13 profit ((13 – 10.4) x £5 = £13).
Explaining their Multi-corner policy Spreadex write:
'The number of corners taken (for both teams) in the first half, multiplied by the number of corners taken (for both teams) in the second half. So, based on the above example, if 3 of the 13 total corners were taken in the first half and 10 of the total 13 corners were taken in the second half, the Multi-Corners make-up would be 30 (3 x 10 = 30).'
Working with the same type formula traders can predict how many cross corners will be taken by each team Based on the first example , the cross-corner total would make-up at 40 (8 x 5 = 40).
